NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will shortly issue new "greenish yellow" Rs 20 currency notes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) series, the central bank said in a notification dated April 26. The new Rs 20 notes will bear signature of the Reserve Bank's governor Shaktikanta Das.
"The base colour of the note is Greenish Yellow. The note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at the obverse and reverse," the RBI said.
Make list of defaulters public, SC tells RBI
"The new (Rs 20) denomination has motif of Ellora Caves on the reverse, depicting the country's cultural heritage," it added.

* Micro letters 'RBI', 'BHARAT' (in Hindi), ‘INDIA' and '20' along with windowed demetalised security thread with inscriptions ‘BHARAT’ and RBI.
* Guarantee Clause, governor's signature with promise clause and RBI emblem will be towards right of Mahatma Gandhi portrait and Ashoka Pillar emblem on the right.
* Mahatma Gandhi portrait and electrotype (20) watermarks and number panel with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and bottom right side.
